The European cycling genre is one of my favorite art styles, specifically the Italian posters. Like all of my painted posters, I create the entire layout digitally first. This allows me to experiment with color and finalize the composition. Next, I paint a small and medium version to basically work out the kinks. Finally, I’m prepared to create a much larger painting with ease and no confusion. The frame is also custom made from old trim. There is a subtle background texture that I love to incorporate in my work.
